A short guide

How to read a COA.

A certificate of analysis is a lab's record of what it tested in one batch of a product. Here is what to look for in any sweetener COA, including ours.

  1. 1
    Product and batch

The product name, batch number and dates. Check that the batch matches the one printed on your bottle.

  2. 2
    Tests and methods

Each parameter the lab tested, and the method or standard it used.

  3. 3
    Results and limits

The measured result next to the accepted limit or specification, so you can see whether it passes.

  4. 4
    Microbiology

Counts of microbes such as bacteria, yeast and mould, plus tests for pathogens like E. coli and Salmonella.

  5. 5
    Sign-off

The lab’s name, accreditation, an authorised signature and the date of the report.

Our quality rules

If it is worth claiming,
it is worth proving.

Evidence first

If a claim is important enough for a headline, we want the document behind it before we publish it.

The label is the reference

The approved label on your bottle is the final word on ingredients, directions and storage.

Ask us anything

Questions about ingredients or testing are welcome. We are happy to explain what we know and what is still being tested.
